Aerial Yoga

$100.00

Sundays 11/10-12/8 no class 12/1
2:15-3:15pm w/Sarah Shellem

Aerial yoga is the fusion of traditional yoga asanas, or postures, with the aerial arts. Just like any other yoga class, you will connect your breath with your movement. The silk hammocks, or slings, will be used as an aid, just as you would use a bolster, block or strap in a traditional yoga class. Since the fabric is free to sway, an aerial yoga class will challenge your core slightly more than a traditional ground based class. However, the versatility and support of the fabric allows you to access new poses that may have been inaccessible before. The fabric supports some of your weight, which can help take the pressure off your shoulders, wrists and knees. This is ideal for someone suffering from pain in those areas. It may allow you to finally practice that forearm stand or obtain a deeper squat. Additionally, the aid of the fabric may help unlock a deeper stretch - maxed out your split on the floor, why not lift up that front leg? So take your yoga practice to new heights, literally!  Taught by Sarah Shellem
